HISTORY

 

Discover the family who founded the library during the first year of WWII, and the struggles they endured to remain open. Still owned and operated by the Burns family since 1940, the library has been a staple to small town Harlen, educating generations of bright minds.

The Burns Public Library offers two floors of literature, a children’s area, sixteen internet enabled computers, printers and copiers!

Our goal at Burns Public Library is to provide education through literature. We have programs for beginners and book clubs for all ages!

Share your love for reading with a neighbor. Seniors are permitted to bring children and take out three (3) books in their name without a card.

Membership cards are free of charge to all Harlen County citizens. All you need to is sign up!
